Community Clean-Up Drive Underway in Golden Grove Extension
Updated August 19, 2025 at 12:33 PM
A major community clean-up is underway in Golden Grove Extension as residents, joined by the Member of Parliament for St. John’s Rural South, Daryll Matthew, work together to improve the appearance and safety of the area.
The initiative, which began this weekend, involves the removal of debris, clearing of overgrown lots, and general beautification efforts aimed at creating a cleaner and healthier environment for families.

Matthew, said the project reflects a wider commitment to fostering civic pride and ensuring residents live in safe, well-kept surroundings.
Volunteers of all ages joined sanitation crews in the effort, with many welcoming the initiative as an important step toward tackling litter and illegal dumping in the area.
Organizers say the clean-up drive will continue in the coming weeks, with plans to extend similar initiatives across other parts of the constituency.
