Corrections policy

How the newsroom corrects errors

Factual accuracy is a newsroom obligation. When a material error is identified, Antigua & Barbuda News reviews the report, updates the published item when warranted and keeps the correction process visible to readers.

1. Report it

Send the article URL, the contested fact and any supporting evidence to [email protected] .

2. Review it

Editors review source material, original reporting notes and any new evidence. Not every dispute results in a correction, but substantive factual issues are assessed promptly.

3. Publish it

Material corrections should be reflected in the article and, where appropriate, acknowledged in an update note or editor’s note so readers understand what changed.

Types of changes

Minor fixes: spelling, formatting or non-material clarifications may be corrected without a formal note.

Material corrections: factual errors, misidentification, attribution problems or misleading context should receive a visible correction trail.

Withdrawals: in rare cases involving severe inaccuracy or legal risk, content may be removed or replaced with an editor’s note explaining the action taken.
